Cosmic Starship is an independent browser game. It began as a small space battle demo and has grown, update by update, into a campaign across six galaxies with 49 warships, 14 civilizations, squad command, a home station and online co-op. It is built with standard web technology (JavaScript and WebGL) and needs nothing but a browser.
Every ship in the game is modelled in code, and the story, factions, ships and names are original. Some designs pay homage to the look of classic television science fiction. Earthforce’s first ships, Starship and Falcon Heavy, are a fan tribute to real-world rockets; the game is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by Space Exploration Technologies Corp. or by the owners of any television series. All trademarks belong to their owners.
The 3D asset kit uses CC0 models by Kenney and an HDRI from Poly Haven. The game engine is built on three.js (MIT licence).
How the site is funded
The game is free, and the website shows advertising to pay for hosting and development. Ads are never placed inside the game screen. See the privacy policy for how advertising uses cookies.
